Brean down- enjoy time on the beach, take the 1.5-mile walk along Somerset’s greatest natural pier. The views are spectacular looking out over the Somerset Levels and over the channel to South Wales. There is an abundance of wildlife too.

Glastonbury Tor-situated on the Somerset Levels, a climb to the 521ft hill (tor). There are two paths one of which is steep. There is a 3-mile circular walk around the town starting from the tor as well as lots of hiking trails.

The Mendip Hills- The Mendip Way is a 50-mile trail connecting Weston Super Mare to Frome. The Limestone Link is a 25-mile-long walk joining the Mendip Hills with Cotswolds. You can download maps of walks of varying length, from the website.

Cheddar Gorge Walk Path- this is England’s largest gorge 3 miles long and appx 400ft deep. There are spectacular sights, it’s well worth a visit. You can download a map and details of the trail from the website.

Somerset Wild walks- there are several specially designed walks to suit all ages. Beautiful scenery and a great assortment of wildlife can be seen. Check the website for details of the length, time and terrain of the walks.

Apex Leisure & Wildlife Park- in Burnham on Sea. Boasts a beautiful fishing lake and scenery. Has a fantastic play park for the children. The ducks (and seagulls) are always hungry and there are plenty of benches for you to take a rest or admire the wildlife and stunning scenery.
